Chad is a very nice guy who really knows how to fix furnaces. He is very professional, taking his boots off before entering our home. It did not take him long to figure out we had two problems – a faulty igniter and a defective gas control. He had to go buy a new gas control and returned to finish the job. I had several companies try to fix my Lennox furnace.  I reached out to Chad because of his reviews.  The other companies told me just to replace the furnace because it was 18 years old. My 4 year old Bryant a/c broke during the summer. We had 4 guys come out from reputable companies. They all left, saying the part was not available, but would follow up when it was. One only one, Chad from DC’s, followed up, got the part, and charged less to install it. (The part was under warranty, but not the service.) I am super happy and will recommend DC to anyone who needs A/C work done.

We contacted Chad with DC’s Heating and Air for a replacement to our noisy twenty-five-year-old air conditioning system. The original system still worked but we could not sit on our back patio and have a conversation with the A/C running. After having four other quotes from different companies, it was an easy decision to have Chad perform the installation. Chad is one of the few professionals left that is a true repair man. Many HVAC contractors simply try to sell you a new system for thousands of dollars. He will diagnose the exact problem with your system almost immediately. I had a bad blower motor that another HVAC company wanted to replace. They told me the part was expensive, hard to find and would take months to order. Chad literally “sniffed” out the problem by noticing the motor had a burnt smell and found a blown soldered connection. He had the motor re-soldered and installed the next day. I would not trust anyone else with my heating and air needs. In the event that you really do need a new unit, he will do a better job for a better price than anyone else. Thank you, Chad!

It was the Thursday before Easter and we called him shortly before 5PM. He literally came THAT NIGHT! Checked it all out, told us what he saw had obviously happened (the solar company blew out the entire system due to the panel upgrade where they had obviously connected a 220V to the 110V heater, thus frying the boards of not only our heater, but our oven and our dishwasher where he even tried to help us making some recommendations for who we might call). He said he’d hoped to come back the next day and (hoping) the heater company was open on Good Friday to get the necessary parts as he would need to drive to Buena Park to pick them up from South OC. He did come back that Friday (the Friday before Easter when so many people had already taken off for the day) and fixed the heater and we FINALLY after 12 COLD Southern CA nights had heat in our house! He also worked with us on the payment as he knew the solar company was responsible for the mishap, until he was paid directly by the solar company for their mistake. He patiently waited for 21 days until I sent a 3rd follow up email to the solar company cc’ing Chad and they did finally respond by contacting Chad with a credit card payment. Chad from DC’s Mechanical is one of the last remaining honest HVAC contractors who loves his profession and truly cares for his clients.  I have used Chad twice, for 2 different issues.

Last December, my 30+ year old Lennox furnace came to a screeching halt (literally).  I had 2 other HVAC companies come over to assess my furnace/AC units. Both of them did a quick 5 min. assessment, told me that my old unit has died, and that they do not repair old units. Then they attempted to upsell me on some brand new $15K units.  Before thinking about investing in a new HVAC unit, I wanted to first find out how much it would cost to repair my old Lennox unit.  I learned quickly that not many HVAC contractors want to repair these older units, they just want you to purchase a new one.

UNTIL, I finally found Chad, who came over, climbed into my attic and did a thorough assessment of my furnace unit.  He took the time to listen to my account of what occurred and what I heard when my furnace unit came to a screeching halt.  He opened up my unit and did a thorough diagnosis of everything.  He discovered that my blower had actually shifted out of place which caused the blower wheel to get lodged against the metal casing.  Chad fixed it and had it running smoothly in 1 hour.  He told me that my old Lennox unit was built like a tank and still running strong after 30 yrs.

Chad, the owner of DC’s Mechanical, is the best! He had been keeping my old AC running for a few years now. Every time I have called him he has promptly responded and come to my house in a very reasonable amount of time. His goal is always to do everything possible to repair not replace (unless you prefer to replace, of course). Whereas other HVAC companies had been trying to sell me a new system for many years, Chad instead always suggested very reasonably priced repairs which kept my system running great for years. This past week, however, our 34 year old furnace blower motor finally died and we decided to have Chad install a whole new AC and heating system. His price was extremely reasonable and his installation was top-notch, which is super important when it comes to HVAC. I wanted Chad and his 30+ years of experience in the industry to be the person installing my HVAC system, not the young tech that the big companies might send to your home who has only been working in HVAC for a few months! Chad was a lifesaver! Middle of a heat wave, we were getting the run around from the company that installed the HVAC system in our new construction home. All parts were under warranty and the contractor who installed the system was asking for $600 for labor to replace two parts. The technician said replacing both would take about 45 minutes. Called Chad for a second opinion and am so thankful I did. He was thorough and quickly diagnosed the problem, which turned out to not be either of the parts the other contractor was planning to replace. Impressed doesn’t even begin to describe how I feel about this company. We had a situation in which our AC went out on one of the hottest days of the year and on a holiday (Labor day). For most people this would be a very inconvenient and uncomfortable situation but for my family it’s more dire. My husband and I moved our fathers in with us over the past several years after our mothers passed away. This is the life of only children who love their parents! My dad has health conditions that make him very susceptible to heat exhaustion and heat stroke. Additionally even just being slightly overheated can result in a dizzy spell and fainting. My father in law is a diabetic with severe neuropathy that is chronically painful and uncomfortable so adding the heat to it makes it dangerous. I have MS which makes me incredibly susceptible to the heat. As I’m sure you can imagine, I became very worried very quickly about our situation. I started my search and was having a hard time reaching anyone. Anyone I could reach wouldn’t be able to come until later in the week or said they’d get back to me but didn’t. I finally decided to post on next door about our situation and Chad, the incredible owner, replied and provided Me with Renee’s information- his right hand man. I called Renee who stated he’d be over in 10 minutes. He came over straight away and got to work. We discussed our very old system, what could have gone wrong and what the next steps were. Renee realized our contactor had been fried. He called Chad to see if Chad had one since Renee did not have one. CHAD CAME TO MY HOUSE WITH THE PART ON HIS DAY OFF. This seriously deserves all capitals. I didn’t think there were professional or business owners who would do this kind of stuff anymore and I’m pleased to say that Chad proved me wrong. Renee got to work, installed the contactor got everything working and we have our AC back up and running before it hits the high temps today and I am beyond thankful for DCSAIR, Chad and Renee. You cannot go wrong with them and we will be calling them again in the future.

Chad is the nicest and most honest person I have met. He spent time to try to inspect and fix our AC issue. In the end, he noted that the issue was not fixable (need replacement but NOT needed immediately). He did not charge me anything because he said he was not able to fix the issue. I rarely ever write reviews, but felt compelled to reiterate what many have said here: Chad is one of the kindest, most honest tradespeople I have ever worked with. He’s the type of person that will help restore your faith in humanity. I needed to fix a leak in my AC condenser unit and got multiple bids to repair the hole and recharge the system. The companies I talked to all suggested replacing the whole system and the ones willing to do the repair gave me hefty quotes. I found Chad after an extensive–and increasingly desperate–web search and was immediately impressed by his earnest positivity and strong communication skills. Chad gave me a quote lower than anyone else and we setup the repair. Today he completed the repair and charged me even less than what he quoted, because he said it was an easier fix than he anticipated. When does this happen? In my, not infrequent, interactions with tradespeople, even the honest ones that I return to, I either pay the quoted amount or the quote is revised upward due to unforeseen issues. I hope my HVAC continues humming smoothly, but it anything arises I’m so grateful to have found Chad. Perhaps Yelp needs a special, more than 5 star, rating for truly exceptional experiences?

Chad didn’t directly fix my messed up appliance (an ice machine – he doesn’t actually fix residential ice machines which totally makes sense) but I had to drop him a glowing review. I called for the service and he talked to me for an extensive time, helped me diagnose where the issue could be coming from and gave me some routes to take before hiring a professional. He then provided me the name and number of a trusted colleague of his, who CAN fix the machine if I couldn’t figure it out more simply (which unfortunately I could not — so I had to call the guy!) But there aren’t enough contractors out there who TRULY care about their profession and just want to help out, using all of their extensive knowledge – and Chad is a rarity in his field. He even told me to feel free to call his cell anytime if I wanted to ask any questions or needed more help. I was very very happy with my choice of vendor, when all HVAC was installed by Chad and his staff. When I started looking for vendors, I knew absolutely nothing about HVAC let alone installation of it. I talked to about a dozen vendors from large retailers to local big to small. DCS  Heating and AC was a real find for me. Now, I’ll never call anybody else. I had a broken furnace which was diagnosed as “dead” by a large HVAC repair company. They wanted me to buy a new furnace for $7800. Fortunately my appliance repair guy recommended Chad. Chad came over assessed the situation and decided to replace a circuit board and an igniter. The entire cost to me was $450 and I have a furnace that’s working great! That sure beats being flim flammed into spending $7800 when I really didn’t need to. Our Hoshizaki ice maker had been turned off for over a year. When  we turned it back on it made a terrible loud noise and stopped making ice after 1/2 day. Our older air conditioner broke down and we called several different companies to repair.  All the companies told us we needed to replace out entire heating and cooling system.  We reached out to Chad for a bid on HVAC replacement and to our surprise he repaired the unit.  Chad told us most companies just want to sell new systems to make a large profit.

I was impressed by his honesty and his 30 years experience in the HVAC industry.  Chad saved us from spending 15 K on a new system and our older ac unit is running better than it has in the last 5 years.  Sure we have a unit over 20 years old but it is still working great.

It’s rare to find tradespeople or home service providers who are honest, knowledgeable, and willing to take the time to help without charging you for every little thing. When I spoke to Chad on the phone, not only was he helpful and friendly, he told me things about HVAC systems that I never knew. I feel like a received a free telecourse. I called Chad based on all of the Yelp reviews and that proved to be the right call.  He called me back and then showed up a few hours after my initial call.  He quickly diagnosed to problem and fixed my AC unit at a reasonable price.  Chad is honest and forthright in his business.  He is from now on the guy I am calling for and HVAC needs.

I found DC’s  by looking for a company on the internet , but none of them gave me that warm fuzzy feeling.  Finally I happened upon DC’s.  A/C repair prices are listed right there, so you know right up front what you might be looking at down the road.  I gave DC’s a call and left a message Sunday night.  Chad called back early Monday and introduced himself.  We had a nice chat and I made an appointment for that same day!.  Chad showed up right on time and was very personable. We went outside to look at the A/C unit and he checked the pressures on his gauges.  He was done within a few minutes and told me there is nothing wrong after verifying the indoor air vent temps.  My problem was really that the upstairs gets hot during the day (we have 2 units) and my system is just trying to play catch-up at night when we turn it on.  Chad suggested to get an Attic fan to help keep the attic temps down.  I got a (QuietCool with Bluetooth) from Home Depot the next day and it seems to already keep the upstairs cooler by a minimum 5 degrees on the thermostat, even before I turn the A/C on. He didn’t try to upsell me anything.  Charged me the standard service fee, and he would not accept a Tip when I offered!  Easy going guy, very respectful and clean.  I will be giving out his name to my neighbor’s when needed.

Chad was referred to me with high recommendations, for good reason. He is a great guy who was happy to answer all my questions about my broken A/C and walk me through his whole process, speaking very frankly and taking the time to reassure me that he would address my problem with the best solution without costing me too much. He also responded to my inquiry within an hour and was able to visit my home on the same day of our first correspondence. This was a sharp contrast to my experience with Home Depot, which proposed some truly preposterous ideas and wanted me to replace the whole condenser for $10K to address what they vaguely described as a leak, which entailed various fees for “renting cranes, etc”. Three years ago a Los Angels based air conditioning company installed a new heater/air conditioning unit without first checking to see that the new unit could handle the air flow. This resulted in the cooling fan burning out and heating unit turning off prematurely before desired heat was reached. Prior to contacting D C’s Heating & AC, I had called for service from two other Orange County area A/C companies, and both had trouble diagnosing the cause of system failure and made so many excuses that I had to look elsewhere for help. I eventually hooked up with Ray Austin at D C’s A/C and received excellent professional service in getting my A/C diagnosed and fixed. The problem was my A/C unit was not getting adequate air flow and required added air delivery conduit. Ray Austin’s many years of experience in the industry soon became apparent. Ray kept me informed of his findings, provided thorough attention to all work done and pricing was very fair, especially considering the significant amount of work that need to be done.  I give D C’s A/C & Heating a high recommendation without any hesitation.

Chad was super helpful and professional for a visit today. My AC exterior unit was not working. He was able to quickly troubleshoot the issue and pinpoint the problem with the condenser motor fan. He gave me tips on what to do in the future. He was honest in telling me what was working and not working. I was having pinpointing the problem with the AC unit for past a couple of days. He finally narrowed it down for me.

I called DC Mechanical today on my Rheem A/C Unit. The company that I have paid for service cleanings for years has been pushing me to get a new unit for over two years, okay “making me worry” about my unit breaking down and if I had the money I would have already gotten a new unit just from the fear and worry of it breaking down. The problem is my unit has been working fine for over two years without any work or repairs or parts. I didn’t want a cheap Goodman unit for $10,000. I like Rheem, reliable and low maintenance, and Chad’s company came up on Yelp with 5 stars, so I made contact. Chad is the best! Always reliable and honest which is why he is our first call whenever we have any AC issues at our house. He even came out on a Sunday on one of the hottest days this summer when our AC stopped working. We were worried that it might be days before he could come out but he showed up less than half hour from when we called him and we were expecting to have to buy a new unit but the emergency call and fix ended up costing us $200! So relieved how this all went and couldn’t be happier.

Chad came to fix our AC that had stopped working. He was quickly able to locate the problem, he had the part and was able to fix it right then. He was referred to us, and we would happily recommend and use Chad again if needed.

Chad was referred to us by a friend who used him after a referral to her.  He came out same day after a really hot 4th of July weekend.  He promptly identified the problem as a bad capacitor, showed me the bad part, and, after correcting an electrical problem, had us up and running for $225.  He explained a few other things that might be issues in the future, but recommended we hold off on addressing them as it could be several years out and everything was working fine now — very practical and no attempt to upsell.  He transparently posts his pricing on his website.

He had to make 2 trips to the manufacturer to get the right board. This took place back on April 13th 2020 so my tenants were very concerned about social distancing and Chad took the necessary steps to make them feel comfortable. The bill was $350 total and I felt like Chad was doing his best to help save me on costs. He did a great job of communicating with me as things progressed. I will definitely use his services in the future if needed and highly recommend him.

Our AC was short cycling and we were worried because it’s going to heat up around here and all the kids were at home distance learning – not a good mix.  Chad came to us via a referral and I was worried he might be backed up due to the heat coming, but he gave us a call back and was able to visit in about an hour.  He immediately found the problem (our unit was only three years old) and asked about warranty information (which we couldn’t find quickly), but took it upon himself to call the manufacturer, request the part, pick it up, and install it, making sure the rapid on and off wasn’t happening.  He even checked out our thermostat and rewired to take better advantage of our set up.

My husband and I are so pleased with the work Chad did on our furnace!
